To convert Parasolid to OBJ, drop the .x_t or .x_b file into the converter below and download the .obj, ready for Blender, a game engine or a renderer. The exact surfaces are triangulated to within 0.02 mm with edges kept crisp. 5 conversions a day are free with no account, and nothing is installed.

Edges are sampled first, so chamfers, fillets and holes come through crisp. Default tolerance: 0.02 mm chord deviation, 0.1 rad angle — fine enough to print directly.
Tessellation is one-way — keep the Parasolid file if you will edit the shape later.
A Parasolid file is an engineering solid: exact surfaces, exact edges, nothing approximated. OBJ is a graphics mesh: polygons, plus optional texture coordinates and material references, with no notion of a solid or of a true curve.
So the conversion turns every face into triangles. Flat faces cost almost nothing; curved ones become fans of small facets, close enough to the true surface (0.02 mm) that a render shows clean curves and sharp edges rather than lumps. Edges are sampled before the faces are filled in, so a chamfer or a hole keeps a clean outline.
What does not survive: the exact geometry itself, any feature history (there was none in the transmit file) and anything a CAD system would need to edit the part. OBJ is the right container for visualisation and texturing. For 3D printing, STL or 3MF is the more usual choice; for another CAD system, STEP.
Parasolid is the modelling kernel under SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge and NX, and a transmit file is its exact solid geometry. Between systems that share the kernel it often survives better than a neutral format. .x_t is text, .x_b is binary; both hold the same solid.
Someone in a Siemens or SOLIDWORKS shop sent you an .x_t and nothing you have opens it.
OBJ is a plain-text mesh format from graphics. Unlike STL it keeps named groups, texture coordinates, materials and polygon faces, which makes it the usual handover into rendering and texturing tools. It is still a mesh, not a solid.
The destination is a renderer, game engine, texturing tool or visualisation pipeline.
Keep the part open: fill it with a lattice, check it with FEA, texture a surface, or slice it into cut-ready sheets. These workspaces are in early access — create an account, then apply from inside the app.
