ResultNative SolidWorks 2025 part

The part's solid as one imported body in a .SLDPRT for SolidWorks 2025 — usually its own surfaces, planes, cylinders, cones and splines as modelled. It downloads beside your original as yourpart_SW2025.SLDPRT.

No feature tree: the finished shape, not the steps. If a part's exact surfaces cannot be read, they are rebuilt from its display mesh and you are told. Check it opens in SolidWorks 2025 before relying on it.

  • Future Version — from 2025 SP5, a 2026 part opens read-only: measure it, not edit it.
  • Save As previous version — from 2026, with features intact; needs that seat and an active subscription, and refuses features new to it.
  • Here — no SolidWorks and nobody else: a native 2025 part from any newer one.

  1. In Windows File Explorer, right-click the part, then Properties and Details: SW Last saved with names the release.
  2. For a folder of parts, add SW Last saved with as a column in the Details view.
  3. Or drop it above. The converter reads it and says Saved in SolidWorks 2026, or that it already opens in 2025.

Some tools show an internal number instead: SolidWorks 2025 is 18000.

Questions7 answered
Can SolidWorks 2025 open a file from a newer version?
Only read-only: from 2025 SP5 it opens a 2026 part as one node you can view and measure, but not edit.
How do I convert a SolidWorks 2026 part to 2025?
Drop it above with SolidWorks 2025 selected. It downloads as yourpart_SW2025.SLDPRT: the solid as one body, in a native SolidWorks 2025 part — usually on the part's own surfaces, and it says when not.
Can't SolidWorks' own Save As do it?
From SolidWorks 2026 only, with that seat and an active subscription. It keeps features, but refuses a part that uses one new to that release.
Is the feature tree kept?
No. You get the finished shape as one imported body — planes, cylinders, cones and splines exact — not the features that built it.
What is SolidWorks version 18000?
SolidWorks 2025. Some tools show a release as an internal number that rises by 1000 a year, so 2026 is 19000.
Does it work for assemblies?
Not yet — parts only. An assembly holds no part geometry: each part is its own file, and each can be saved for 2025 here.
Is it free?
Yes to start: 2 solid-geometry conversions a day with no account, and 4 a day with a free one; past that each costs 4 credits, and Maker includes them. Checking which release saved a part is free.
