SOLIDWORKS part file (.sldprt)

A SLDPRT file is a single SOLIDWORKS part: the exact solid — true planes, cylinders and splines — plus its feature history, sketches, material and custom properties. It is proprietary, so nothing else on your machine may open it. Assemblies are SLDASM files. One SLDPRT can hold several bodies, and those should stay separate when converting.

Questions4 answered
Is my SLDPRT file uploaded?
Yes. A browser cannot draw exact CAD geometry, so the SLDPRT file is sent to our own servers, turned into a mesh and sent back. Without an account it is deleted within 24 hours; it is never shared and never used to train AI.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you can view 60 files a day, and viewing does not use your 5 free conversions. Converting the file to a format you can keep is a conversion, charged as one.
Can I measure the part?
The viewer shows its overall size along each axis, in the units stored in the file. For distances between features, convert it and open it in your CAD system.
What does the viewer not show?
Colours, textures and materials are not drawn, and every surface is shown as triangles. The SLDPRT file itself keeps its exact surfaces; convert it to STEP to carry those into CAD.
