Open a STEP file
in SketchUp.

Updated 2026-10-01

SketchUp cannot open STEP files: STEP is not among the formats it imports. Convert it to STL below, then open the .stl in SketchUp. SketchUp imports the STL as faceted geometry. STL is the one 3D format SketchUp Free (web) imports.

What SketchUp can import was checked against its own documentation: SketchUp supported formats. Software changes; if a newer release imports STEP directly, use that.
